The 2nd LGBT Pride March of Butuan City in the Caraga region is scheduled on Friday, December 5, from 3:00 PM, from SJIT Montilla Blvd to Butuan Central Elementary School.

ADO

Ladlad Caraga Inc. has announced that the 2nd LGBT Pride March of  Butuan City in the Caraga region is scheduled on Friday, December 5, from 3:00 PM, from SJIT Montilla Blvd to Butuan Central Elementary School.

According to Ysang Semacio Bacasmas, executive officer of Ladlad Caraga Inc., Pride March is very important for us “because it is the time when we parade not only what’s beautiful in our community, but also highlight our calls for our causes, including calling an end to discrimination, and making LGBT people see the importance of coming out of the closet.”

The first Pride celebrations held in these parts of the country in 2013 highlighted that Pride is also existent outside of metropolitan cities in the Philippines.  As Bacasmas earlier stated, “Pride celebration in these parts of the Philippines… showcase the strength of the LGBT community in our area, while proving that not only the LGBT community in Metro Manila or other metropolitan cities can gather, but that we can similarly do too. We believe that with this, we highlight how we can not only provide entertainment, but also offer social and public service.”

Events for the 2nd LGBT Pride March will include the actual parade, hosting of the Miss Maanyag 2014 beauty pageant, and hosting of a show.
