Batanguenyong LGBTQIA pinagdiwang ang Pride; tinulak mga local at nat’l anti-discrimination policies

Ayon kay Aivan Alvarez ng Wagayway Equality Inc., nararapat lamang na i-celebrate and Pride. Subalit “ito’y pagkakataon din para sa LGBTQIA community members at iba pang duty bearers na mag-collaborate para siguraduhing maipasa ang mga local ordinances at national law na poprotekta sa karapatang pantao ng mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA community.”

BATANGAS CITY – Nagsama-sama ang mga lokal na LGBTQIA leaders, opisyal ng gobyerno at ibang partner organizations sa “Equality Night : Rampa, Protesta at Pagibig”, isang pagtitipong nais maalis ang stigma at discrimination sa probinsya sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos.

Ayon kay Aivan Alvarez ng Wagayway Equality Inc., nararapat lamang na ipagdiwang ang Pride. Subalit “ito’y pagkakataon din para sa LGBTQIA community members at iba pang duty bearers na mag-collaborate para siguraduhing maipasa ang mga local ordinances at national law na poprotekta sa karapatang pantao ng mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA community.”

Ganito rin ang mensahe ni Senador Risa Hontiveros na nagsabi na patuloy niyang paninindigan ang pangakong maipasa ang SOGIE Equality Bill hindi lang para sa LGBTQIA, dahil ito’y maari ring maging proteksyon para sa mga heterosexual na Filipino laban sa diskriminasyon.

Maliban sa anti-discrimination policies, sinusulong din ng mga miyembro ng lokal na LGBTQIA community ang pagpasa ng HIV ordinance sa lungsod at maging sa probinsya ng Batangas.

Ang pagtitipon ay pinangunahan ng Wagayway Equality, Inc. kasama ang PSFI at Silver Peak Group of Companies.
