Senatorial candidate Joel Villanueva reiterated his support to give rights to LGBT couples, though he also stressed his opposition for marriage equality. “I believe (marriage) is a sacred matter, and let us leave it to the church. (But) the State should do something in order for us to ensure that there’s recognition of the rights of our fellow Filipinos.”
