If you’re looking for a hot top you may want to head to the Philippines, which has the highest percentage of tops in the latest iteration of Grindr Unwrapped.
Inspired by Spotify’s annual Wrapped recap, Grindr also showcases highlights from its gay dating app. It therefore reveals which countries have more tops, bottoms or versatiles looking for Mr. Right (or Mr. Right Now), what these men are looking for (i.e. it’s not always about sex, apparently), and so on.
According to Grindr, the countries with the highest percentage of men looking for Mr. Right Now are: US, Australia, UK, Ireland and Canada. This means that this may be where you wanna head for the best odds for meeting someone ASAP.
The highest percentage of tops – as stated – come from the Philippines, followed by Colombia, Argentina, Israel and India.
The power bottoms may be found in Vietnam, China, South Africa, Peru and Poland.
The verses are in Russia, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Romania and Venezuela.
Perhaps reflecting the pandemic landscape, “vaccinated” was the most popular profile tag in 2021. Other popular tags include “kissing” and “cuddling”. Nonetheless, highlighting Grindr’s cis bent, “discreet” continues to be a popular tag.
Caveat: Grindr stressed that Unwrapped was created from data collected from a subsection of the app’s more-than-13 million users. As such, it represents “only a subsection of the global queer community.”
