Pasigarbo sa Pagkatawo (Behold Our Identity), the 4th LGBT National Conference, is gaining steam as over 30 LGBT and HIV organizations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao come onboard as organizational partners. These organizations have, collectively, over 15,000 members.

Scheduled from December 1-3 in Cebu City, the gathering will be the first time a national LGBT assembly will be held outside Luzon and Metro Manila. It is co-organized by Outrage Magazine, the only LGBT publication in the Philippines; Cebu City-based Bisdak Pride Inc., the largest LGBT organization in the Visayas; Bahaghari Center for SOGIE Research, Education and Advocacy (Bahaghari Center); and Fringe Publishing.

“The goal for Pasigarbo sa Pagkatawo has always been to make it inclusive,” said Michael David dela Cruz Tan, publishing editor of Outrage Magazine. “Of course, all efforts to push for LGBT human rights are to be celebrated. However, these efforts will really only mean something if the people (particularly those at the grassroots) who need these most benefit from them. And so – by forming these partnerships with LGBT and HIV organizations in various parts of the country – we hope that the lessons that will be derived from Pasigarbo sa Pagkatawo will reach as many LGBT Filipinos as possible.”
