The City Government of Baguio, through the City Tourism, Culture and Arts Division, announced the hosting this June 14-15 of the first-ever “Baguio Equality Expo,” an event “where LGBTQIA+ individuals can showcase how they can stand out and make a difference in the world.”
To be held during Pride month at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center in Baguio City, various activities have been lined up – e.g. competitions like PaDOLLVougean, Sync-Kafez, and Miss Trans Global Philippines; BestMatch Speed Dating; LGBTQIA+ 101 talks; and film showing.
In a Facebook post, the local government unit of Baguio City stated that it hopes this event will be a “celebration… where one can feel embraced, valued and included.”
