‘My Transgender Date’ is Building a Community One Video at a Time

My Transgender Date began its social media journey in the middle of the pandemic. The process hasn’t always been easy. But the platform’s purpose is what makes it different from other brand-run channels.

Building a loyal audience on social media takes more than a single viral video. It requires planning, consistency, and ideas that can hold people’s attention. That is something this company discovered when it started its own social media campaigns.

My Transgender Date began its social media journey in the middle of the pandemic. The process hasn’t always been easy. But the platform’s purpose is what makes it different from other brand-run channels.

Building Connection Through Content

Many viewers assume that videos made by companies aim to sell something. Once a channel is seen as a brand, people often expect a lot of marketing targeted at profit.

My Transgender Date is working to take a different approach. While the platform is centered on dating, its video content prioritizes visibility, inclusion, and education. The videos offer resources and encourage dialogue within the transgender community and among allies, contributing to a more supportive online space.

The Beginnings

The first few videos were posted on YouTube and featured team introductions. Then they evolved into videos featuring Maki, the site’s co-founder, explaining how the transgender dating site works. These videos gave a face to the team working behind the site and their commitment to advocacy.

“My Transgender Date team building 🏳️‍⚧️”

As the channel grew, it provided the team with more space to experiment with different formats. Their videos include dating advice, discussions on trans history, introductions to famous trans women in modern times, and transgender terminology. This gave the team more insight as to what the viewers and community needed.

What Comes Next

The team is now focused on improving quality. Scripts are more refined, editing has improved, and production value has gone higher. While the content first appeared mainly on YouTube and Facebook, the team has expanded its reach to TikTok and Instagram.

With growth comes new phases. My Transgender Date is shifting towards reaction-based content. Instead of just sharing information, the channel is moving towards more community interaction and conversation.

“STOP Messaging Us Like This 😤”

Their upcoming videos will focus on responding to Reddit posts, personal stories, and testimonials from trans women and their allies. My Transgender Date wants to open up a space where conversations on important trans issues can take place.
