Quezon City to hold LGBTQIA Pride festival on June 22

Pride PH, co-organizer of Quezon City’s Pride, announced that for this year, the festival will be held on the fourth Saturday of June, still at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

On June 22, all Pride roads lead to Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.

Pride PH, co-organizer of Quezon City’s Pride, announced that for this year, the festival will be held on the fourth Saturday of June, still at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Quezon City’s Pride is backed – including in funding – by the local government unit (LGU) of the city, currently helmed by Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Last year’s gathering is said to have attracted approximately 110,000 people to be the “biggest Pride event in Southeast Asia”; it easily bested the supposed-to-be-bigger more commercial Metro Manila Pride.

Typical of Western-patterned Pride, this year’s gathering in Quezon City boasts of celebrities, many surfacing to advocate for LGBTQIA human rights only in June (the Pride month). Performers slated to perform include: Vice Ganda, Bini, Marina Summers, Sassa Gurl, juan karlos, Janine Berdin, Naia, Adrian Lindayag, Christian Antolin, Pipay, Matthew Chang, Lady Gagita, and Mrs Tan.
