The need to put a spotlight on transgender Filipinos’ issues.

In celebration of Women’s Month, the Mujer-LGBT Organization will convene the “Trans Congress 2026” on March 30, 2026 at KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

According to Mujer-LGBT Organizatio, the event “will serve as a strategic platform for advancing discourse on critical issues affecting the transgender community.” This is because of the need “to examine persistent gaps and emerging challenges, promote a deeper understanding of gender diversity, and strengthen multi-sectoral collaboration in support of the rights, dignity, and well-being of trans individuals.”

There will be discussions on policy development, legal frameworks and protections, and the delivery of inclusive and gender-affirming healthcare services.

The gathering is done in collaboration with the IBP Zambasulta, the Gender and Development of Zamboanga City, and the City Health Office of Zamboanga, and with support from Babaylanes, Inc.
