Registration for participation at the 4th LGBT National Conference in Cebu City this coming December 1-3, 2017 is now open, with a limited number of scholarships made available to select – and deserving – LGBT leaders who may not be able to attend the gathering otherwise.

The national conference – the first time that it will be held outside of Luzon, where the seat of the government of the Philippines is, will be “a great opportunity for those who want to know the issues affecting the LGBT community in the Philippines, and hear of efforts – if there are any – to deal with these issues,” said Roxanne Omega Doron, executive director of Cebu City-based Bisdak Pride Inc., the largest LGBT NGO in the Visayas.

Bisdak Pride INC. is co-organizing the 4th LGBT National Conference with Outrage Magazine.

The 4th LGBT National Conference will be part of Pasigarbo sa Pagkatawo (Behold our Identity), an umbrella event that will also usher in the 1st LGBT Pride festival in the Visayas.

Only those who pre-register and are approved will be given access to the events lined up during Pasigarbo sa Pagkatawo not only to guarantee the quality of the gathering, said Doron, but also for the safety of all the participants.

There are also limited scholarships available to “make sure that those who may not be able to attend, yet whose voices need to also be heard, are given opportunity,” Doron said.

In total, scholarships will be given to representatives from 65 LGBT organizations from all over the Philippines.
