Zamboanga City is hosting the 2025 Marcha de Orgullo on June 20, the fourth city-wide LGBTQIA+ Pride-related parade, which helmed by the City Government of Zamboanga through the Gender and Development Services of the Office of the City Mayor, in coordination with the Mujer-LGBT Organization and LGBTQ+ Zamboanga Federation.
Themed “ORGULLO 2025: Unidos para el Cambio y la Igualdad”, this is “part of showing support and to the (LGBTQIA+) goals including eliminating inequalities and promoting gender equality,” stated the LGU in its Facebook post on this year’s gathering.
The very first Pride happened in the city in October 2017.
Zamboanga City is among the more progressive LGUs in Mindanao, and already has an anti-discrimination ordinance that protects the human rights of its LGBTQIA+ constituents.
