Intersex Philippines Inc. (IXPI), which is the pioneering intersex organizations in the Philippines, brought its Intersex 101 Caravan to Iloilo City in an effort to “bring together community members and stakeholders for an afternoon of meaningful conversations on intersex visibility, rights, and inclusion”.

The Intersex 101 Caravan is an ongoing effort by IXPI to teach about intersex people and their issues, rendered through seminars involving stakeholders who could help in the push for more pro-intersex policies in their respective localities.

According to Jeff Cagandahan, executive director of IXPI, “the activity opened a space for learning and dialogue, allowing participants to better understand intersex experiences and the importance of creating communities grounded in dignity, respect, and equality.”

Supported by the Office of the LGBT Affairs – Iloilo City, helmed by its director, Mx. Gab Umadhay, the Iloilo event is said to aid in the continued “building safer and more inclusive spaces where intersex people are recognized, respected, and celebrated.”
