When it comes to longevity, many people aren’t supplementing right. They think that they have it in the bag, but they don’t.

When it comes to longevity, many people aren’t supplementing right. They think that they have it in the bag, but they don’t.

Why is this?

Partly, it’s because there’s so much nonsense out there when it comes to living longer. Everyone thinks they have the fix.

So, what should you be supplementing, according to brands like Naturecan?

Vitamin D

Top of the list is one of the simplest supplements to get out there: vitamin D. This inexpensive pill is something that most people don’t get enough of in their daily lives and should be added to their diets if they want to remain in peak health.

Getting enough vitamin D is usually pretty straightforward. A single pill of 2000 to 4000 IU per day should do the trick.

Collagen Peptides

Collagen peptides are another favorite longevity supplement. Researchers and doctors recommend these for things like skin health, joint health, and gut lining.

The nice thing about collagen peptides is that you don’t need much. Anywhere from 5 to 10 grams daily is usually enough.

The best collagens are hydrolyzed, and this makes them easier to absorb. It also reduces the risk of things like bloating, which can occur sometimes.

Zinc

Believe it or not, zinc is another longevity vitamin you might want to consider adding to your stack. You need this for immune function, DNA repair, and a host of additional processes throughout the body.

Many people don’t get enough zinc in their diets because they are eating poor quality foods with a lot of refined grains and oils. Because of this, it is always worth topping up on zinc where possible and potentially reversing some of the damage.

Turmeric

No list of longevity supplements is complete, of course, without turmeric. This yellow spice is known for downregulating aging pathways and helping the body repair. It’s also a strong anti-oxidant and can protect against many age-related diseases, including joint issues.

If you want to increase the effectiveness of this spice, consider mixing it with black pepper. The combination of the two can have a profoundly beneficial effect on various diseases and other issues that you might encounter on your health journey. If there’s something that’s irking you, it is often just worth a try to see if it makes a difference.

NMN

NMN is one of the most popular supplements on the market right now, thanks to its exotic appeal combined with a simple mechanism in the body. NMN works by restoring cellular energy so it can do more housekeeping, sweeping out defective proteins and replacing them with new ones.

The downside is that there aren’t any long-term studies on this option yet. It could boost circadian rhythms, but the data are still coming through.

Magnesium

Finally, we have magnesium, another mineral that is deficient in most diets. Magnesium is crucial for hundreds of enzymatic reactions across the body and is known to improve sleep, heart function, and even nerve cells.

So, which of these supplements will you be adding to your longevity stack?
