Emphasizing the importance of incorporating diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) in organizations, Outrage Magazine editor in chief Michael David C. Tan, MDC, helmed a SOGIESC 101 lecture at business process outsourcing (BPO) company Grace Global Operations Center (Philippines) Inc.
Particularly now when there’s pushback on the LGBTQIA+ human rights movement, “there is a need to highlight why promoting DEI is relevant,” Tan said. “Recognizing that the world isn’t homogenous, that diversity is good, is essential. Acknowledging that everyone should have equal opportunity, that equity of treatment is ideal, needs to be emphasized. And making everything inclusive, making sure that no sector is left behind, should be normalized.”

Grace Global Operations Center (Philippines) Inc. manages various business processes that encompass IT, finance, et cetera. In 2025, the Great Place To Work Institute reported that the medium-sized company is among the “best workplaces in the Philippines”, with 93% of its employees saying it is a great place to work, compared to 65% of employees at a typical company in the Philippines.
In a statement to Outrage Magazine, the company stated that “at GRACE GBS Manila, we value and continue to live by the core principles of diversity, equity, and inclusivity – this being an integral part of our Talent & Culture pillar as we strive to successfully achieve our five-year roadmap. We continually aspire and will never falter on our fervent commitment to make GBS Manila a safe and an inclusive environment for all – regardless of age, race and SOGIESC.”
Tan, who discussed SOGIESC 101, was joined by Stephen Christian P. Quilacio of Bahaghari Center for SOGIE Research, Education ad Advocacy, Inc., who discussed HIV issues and how these may intersect with workplace concerns; and Ge Labid Ygay, who discussed queer concerns and how the private sector can help deal with these. Also in attendance was Arthur Abad Nwabia, Outrage Magazine reporter.
