Bob’s Burgers costume

Not everyone will get this reference, and may therefore look at you like you have two heads. However, those who do understand your costume will love and invariably become your best friends for the night. A costume like a Bob’s Burgers costume is also extremely simple to conjure up. Simply purchase a fake moustache and a white apron and you are fancy-dress ready.

Deadpool costume

One of the most universally enjoyed films of 2016 was carried by one of the wittiest superheroes to ever hit the silver screen: Deadpool. Dressing up as Deadpool does not have the same egotistical stigma that dressing up as Superman does. This year, Deadpool has finally made superhero costumes cool.

Emoji costume

With a huge variety of emojis to choose from, this is an extremely simple costume that you can make a statement in at a fancy dress party.

Frank Sausage from the “Sausage Party” costume

Similar to a Bob’s Burgers costume – although a lot more expensive to purchase – a Frank Sausage costume will be loved by those at the fancy-dress party who watched Seth Rogan’s “Sausage Party” movie. Those at the party who get the reference, will adore this costume.

Brenda Bun from the “Sausage Party” costume

If you are going to dress as Frank Sausage from the “Sausage Party” try to get your significant other, or one of your friends, to dress as Brenda Bun. One can not come to the party without the other.

Prince in “Purple Rain” costume

Prince’s recent death makes this “Purple Rain” costume all the more apt.

It is a well known fact that the person who is dressed as Prince at a fancy-dress party, is undoubtedly the coolest person there. So this year, why not be that person? Remember though, if you were this costume, prepare to ask to sign Purple Rain on a countless number of occasions throughout the night.

David Bowie costume

Dressing as David Bowie is surprisingly easy. Simply apply white powder; paint a lightning bolt diagonally across your face; put light green contacts in one eye; and spike up your hair. This is a costume that every at the party will enjoy; however, like wearing a Prince costume, it comes with a lot of song requests.

Skeleton face-paint (be creative!)

Skeleton face-paint can be a boring thing to do for a fancy-dress party, but that is only if you do not put the effort in. Search designs you like on Google Images or Pinterest, and try to replicate them. Most designs look a lot harder than they actually are, so do not be afraid to give them a try.
