Mandaue City schedules Pride events for June, parade slated on June 15

Mandaue City – which packages itself as the “LGBTQIA Capital of the South” – is scheduled to host the 6014 Mandaue Pride 2024 with activities scattered throughout June, peaking with a parade on June 15.

In the Province of Cebu, Mandaue City – which packages itself as the “LGBTQIA Capital of the South” – is scheduled to host the 6014 Mandaue Pride 2024 with activities scattered throughout June, peaking with a parade on June 15.

Themed “Inspire. Empower. Move.“, this year’s Pride is said to “celebrate the diversity and creativity of our LGBTQIA community.”

Events include:

  • Pride flag raising: June 3, Mandaue City Heritage Plaza
  • Pride feeding program: June 9, Subangdaku Gym, Mandaue City
  • Pride pedestrian painting: June 14, Centro, Mandaue City
  • Pride parade: June 15, Mandaue Heritage Plaza
  • Seminar on rights and welfare for LGBTQIA: June 22, Mandaue City Cultural & Sports Complex
  • Pride ball: June 23, Mandaue City Cultural & Sports Complex

Manage City is among the more progressive local government units (LGUs) in the Philippines, having passed an anti-discrimination ordinance (called the LGBT Code of Mandaue City) in 2016.
