Why an RV is better than a car on a road trip

You might want to do your road trip in a car, and that can work well, but you’ll probably have to plan a bit more, and it might actually end up being more expensive than taking an RV.

Road trips always sound like a great idea, and for the most part they are, but the truth is that the way you do them makes a big difference to how enjoyable they are. So you might want to do your road trip in a car, and that can work well, but you’ll probably have to plan a bit more, and it might actually end up being more expensive than taking an RV.

With that in mind, here’s why an RV could be the better choice; keep reading to find out more.

You’re Not Working Around Stops

When you travel by car, you’re always thinking about the next stop, which might be for good, toilets, somewhere to stretch your legs, and somewhere to stay overnight, for example. It becomes part of the trip, and although that might seem normal, it can actually be pretty disruptive – wouldn’t it be more fun not to have to worry about stopping quite so much?

Well, with an RV, you don’t have to plan your day around finding somewhere suitable – you can stop where and when it makes sense, and you’ll already have all the facilities you need. That means the trip gets disrupted less and feels more enjoyable and relaxing.

You’ve Got Your Own Space

One of the biggest differences is having your own space with you the whole time, so you’re not living out of a bag or trying to keep everything organised in a small boot. You’ve actually got somewhere to sit properly, store your things, and move around when you need to. Just that can make longer journeys feel better, so you might end up exploring further afield and having some more unusual or far-flung adventures.

It’s Easier To Change Plans

Road trips don’t always go exactly as planned, and that’s really what makes them so special and fun. However, when you’re relying on hotels or fixed bookings, it can be harder to deal with delays and route changes – you might find you have to stick to a plan that just isn’t what you want anymore.

With an RV, you’ve got a lot more flexibility. For example, if you want to stay somewhere longer, you can. If you want to move on earlier, that’s easy as well. And stopping at an RV park means you’ve got a good base to use when you need it, and you won’t have to be locked into a strict schedule.

You Can Travel More Comfortably

Long hours in a car can be really tiring, especially when you’re limited to sitting in the same position. An RV, on the other hand, gives you more space to move around, and you’re not going to be quite so restricted during the journey.

That’s going to make the trip itself feel more fun and less like a chore to just get through, ensuring that your entire road trip is positive rather than just the things you see after you finish driving.
