Transmasculine Philippines is holding a workshop on non-medical transitioning practices. As a community-based organization, Transmasculine Philippines aims “to provide a safe space for Filipino transgender men and transmasculine non-binary people” through the power of education and communication.
“Pre, Ako ‘to!”: Non-Medical Transitioning of Trans Pinoys Workshop is dubbed as a “hybrid workshop that seeks to bring awareness to transmasculine Filipinos on aspects of mental and social transitioning.” The event will be both livestreamed thru the Facebook page of Transmasculine Philippines, and will be conducted face-to-face on June 18 at Jess and Pat’s, 2/F 63 Maginhawa Street, Diliman, Quezon City.
Topics to be discussed will include: SOGIESC 101; avoiding toxic masculinity and heteronormativity as transmasculine individuals; non-medical transitioning tools; safe binding; DIY packer making; transmasculine fashion; and voice modulation.
Speakers will include: Dr. Gia Sison, head of the Makati Med Wellness Center; Pepper Sanchez of I Stand With Pride; Jessa Fadri of IMVC Manila; Seth Ladao, Abi Taningco and Jesh Alberto of Transmasculine Philippines; and Coco Morillo.
