As of 2024, the London School of Economics, or LSE, already produced 20 Nobel laureates. Ito yung award na gustong makuha ni Donald Trump, convicted felon na pangulo ng Estados Unidos, na pinantasyang ibigay kay Cory Aquino, and never given to the likes of Mahatma Gandhi or Eleanor Roosevelt.
But as of 2025, only 2-3 Nobel laureates associated with LSE are non-white, including Arthur Lewis and Ralph Bunche.
And so even if this school, which has educated at least 55 past or present heads of states – including the prime ministers of Barbados, Canada, Colombia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Japan, Singapore and the UK – there is this recognition of the need to deal with inequalities if we want to push for social justice.

Matagal na nating alam… arguably particularly by those working at the grassroots, since we see real-world examples of inequality and how this impacts lives. So yung truth, mahaba pa ang proseso.
Since Western countries, which caused too many of the inequalities, dictating how to define inequality itself (and so there are those who tend to sugarcoat it to protect their interests).
Since this isn’t a one-topic issue (e.g. inequality in access to education leads to inequality in the workforce, which leads to inequality in accessing services, and so on).
Since there is silencing of indigenous solutions to counter neoliberalism.
Since yung nakikitang solutions, like civil society, nilalamon din ng sistema. Just look at profiteering in HIV responses, as well as gatekeeping of funds in LGBTQIA+ communities as examples.
But at least sinisimulang pag-usapan.
Sana lang fast… and hindi lang puro kuda.
Though for now, andito ulit tayo. Nag-aaral, pilit umintindi… while sharing perspectives from where we’re from, from our lived experiences. Because somewhere there is a way forward.
