Pinoy Deaf Rainbow Inc. announces the second edition of Miss Deaf Gay Philippines. The event that will see representations from Deaf gay candidates from all over the Philippines is slated on December 2 at Mandaluyong City Gymnasium in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.

Pinoy Deaf Rainbow Inc., the premiere group for Deaf LGBT Filipinos, has announced the second edition of Miss Deaf Gay Philippines.

Done in partnership with the Manila Deaf Pink Club, the event that will see representations from Deaf gay candidates from all over the Philippines is slated on December 2, from 7.00PM at Mandaluyong City Gymnasium in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.

“The pageant aims to provide a fine, dignified and beautiful way to encourage Deaf gays to build their self-confidence, self-esteem and other life skills,” said Henry Lee Perey, president of Pinoy Deaf Rainbow Inc. Incidentally, Perey – as Biba Perey from Tagaytay City – was crowned as Miss Deaf Gay Philippines 2007, the first and thus far only time the pageant was held.

Perey added that the pageant is hoped to highlight “what Deaf gays can do; so we hope for it to be (given mainstream) support.”

A pre-pageant talent competition is scheduled come November 29, from 1.00PM, at Kaban ng Hiyas, Mandaluyong City Hall, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
