PH drag community faces its #MeToo moment; sexual misconduct allegedly done by popular Pinoy drag personas

The local drag community is confronting its #MeToo moment, as allegations of sexual misconduct are lobbed against popular drag personas.

The local drag community is confronting its #MeToo moment, as allegations of sexual misconduct are lobbed against popular drag personas, particularly via Twitter/X, bleeding to other online channels (from Facebook to TikTok, et cetera).

In a Twitter/X post on 21 May, drag performer Mystic “Kitchen Witch” Lexie alleged that while working as a personal assistant to Lady Morgana “some time ago”, the contestant on season 1 of Drag Race Philippines “SA’d” (sexually assaulted) her.

“I did a PA job for Lady M, it was 3 events in a day, so she bumped up my TF from 2k to 6k (which I thought was reasonable), ayun pala may kasamang something. We got back to her hotel at 3am, she tells me to stay till morning baka wala daw ako ma-book and treat niya daw breakfast. At the time nakasama ko na siya sa various events so we were pretty ok naman, so sabi ko ok gew.

“Two beds na separate yung hotel room niya, so I took the empty one and got comfy and started scrolling on my phone to fall asleep.

So I stood up and moved to the sofa.

“Never in my adult life did I ever think I’d be SA’d by an ‘Ate’. I was saying ‘Ate, no, please, wag na.’ You really do freeze in the moment.”

Lady Morgana responded to the allegation, asking for forgiveness while citing drunkenness for what happened.

(sic)”

Already, production house The Playhouse PH has removed Lady Morgana – Drag Race Philippines’ Miss Congeniality – from its lineup of performers for a 5 June event at the Music Museum because of the allegation.

Meanwhile, Drag Den alum Lady Gagita was also accused of sexual assaults. One accuser, Muning, alleged that before she became a drag performer, she was kissed without consent by Lady Gagita.

They were having drinks in Pasig City, and “(t)hen may time na mag ccr na ako sinundan nya ako sa cr tapos hinalikan nya ako ulit tapos nauna syang lumabas sakin.

The impersonator of Lady Gaga has not yet publicly addressed the issue. Outrage Magazine already reached out to Lady Gagita through her Facebook account; no response was received as of press time.
