Queerspotting

Aiming to encourage women to break free from stereotypes and celebrate women’s sexuality and diversity Spectrum MNL – in cooperation with BLCKSHP PH – scheduled Queerspotting: Prison Break on April 30 (Thursday) at BED Manila.

“Lesbian, bisexual, queer, pansexual, asexual, transgender – there’s a whole spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identity for every woman. It’s a matter of respecting how one identifies as, and who prefers whom. Name calling is just a small part of the different struggles that LGBTQ people have faced in years. While the Philippines has been touted as a gay-friendly country, tolerance just isn’t enough. Let’s break free from such stereotypes,” said Loreen Ordoño of Spectrum MNL.

Themed after the TV series “Orange is the New Black”, Queerspotting: Prison Break features a spoken word performance by Slac Cayamanda, an acoustic set by Rizza Cabrera, and DJ sets by DJs Cherry Bombs, Ashtray Girl, DBT, and Nazu.

Spectrum MNL is a group of women established in 2014 that aims to provide a safe space where women who love women can come together, build a community, and have fun organizing and redefining LBT parties for women

Queerspotting: Prison Break is also in partnership with Outrage Magazine.

Other partners include: Astig.PH, FEIST Magazine, Wazzup Pilipinas, Bliss Lubricants, Evixi Sportswear, Culture of Ink, Shutter Monster Photo Booth, and Morfosis PH.

Tickets are sold for P350, inclusive of one drink and baller bands with the following labels: whether you’re single and ready to mingle (green), taken but willing to mingle (orange), taken and off-limits (red), or you’re going to the party to meet friends (yellow).
