Vaseline launches body lotion said to be ideal for transgender women

Vaseline, which – as part of its commitment to “healthy skin for all” – launched the Transition Body Lotion, said to be the world’s first clinically-proven skincare product specifically designed by and for transgender women.

Are transgender people’s skin different?

Apparently, yes… at least if we believe Vaseline, which – as part of its commitment to “healthy skin for all” – launched the Transition Body Lotion, said to be the world’s first clinically-proven skincare product specifically designed by and for transgender women.

A product of two years of research and co-creation, the lotion is said to address skin problems that transgender women, in particular, experience by incorporating such ingredients as niacinamide and isoflavones that could aid the “more natural transitioning experience” that can “have a negative effect on skin”.

Ad agency Ogilvy Singapore helped launch the product.

In the released press statement, Vaseline stated that this is the company’s effort to “foster trust within the transgender community” by resonating “with those who value inclusivity”. In the end – as this is still a business move – the company hopes to position itself as “a leader in a more inclusive beauty landscape”.
