The next party-centric Pride gathering in Metro Manila is slated on June 24, though specifics on the time and venue have yet to be announced. The date announcement is based on the Facebook post of Metro Manila Pride (MMP), the organization that has been heading the annual gathering, at least since MMP devoured its predecessor, Task Force Pride.
Themed “Tayo ang Kulayaan!: Samot-saring lakas, sama-sama sa landas!”, this year’s gathering hopes to achieve two things, at least based on its manifesto, i.e. 1) That LGBTQIA people imbibe the strength of the community said to be grounded in diversity; and 2) That the road to true “freedom” must be traveled together, even with non-LGBTQIA and yet part of other minority sectors.
Still in Metro Manila, Pride PH already announced that a Pride festival will also be held on June 24 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
